Our Champlin Physical Therapy is a highly effective approach to treating painful conditions, restoring balance and function to the body. Our licensed Physical Therapists are experts in evaluating and improving how patient’s bodies work and move. Their extensive training is seen in their unique approach to evaluating their patients. Anyone can look up exercises on-line or get instruction from a trainer. Our Physical Therapists evaluate the patient to determine not only what needs to corrected, but why it needs to be corrected. This sets them apart.
Our PT patients routinely report:
- A faster return to the playing field
- Improved performance
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Increased range and ease of motion
- Fall prevention
- Improved muscle strength and flexibility
- Improvement in muscle coordination and balance
- Reduced pain and inflammation
- Injury prevention for athletes
Our Physical Therapist’s goal is to assist you in maximizing your quality of life and movement potential. For some, this may be overcoming a sport or activity injury. For others it may mean developing a personalized program to get back some of the activity they lost years ago, or reducing their risk of falling.
Physical Therapy Evaluation
On a patient’s initial physical therapy visit, they will have an evaluation. The therapist will review the medical history and discuss activities and functions that are limited at home, school and work. Tests and measurements such as strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, and gait will be performed. During the evaluation, our therapists identify the cause of each concern. A treatment plan is developed and patients are given tools to help them reach their goals.
Physical Therapy Treatment
During therapy sessions, the therapist will give instructions on a home exercise program to increase range of motion, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. They may use therapeutic tools that help decrease pain, inflammation, and improve circulation such as:
- Therapeutic exercise rehab
- Postural training
- Balance or dizziness training
- EMS (electrical muscle stimulation)
- Ultrasound therapy
- Graston therapy
Physical Therapy for Children
Our physical therapy team at Team Health Care Clinic provides a number of options for children including strengthening, recovery from injury, addressing postural imbalances and neurodevelopmental issues. Our patients report better outcomes when chiropractic care and physical therapy are combined as part of their health care plan. Our physical therapy team enjoys working with children as much as our Champlin chiropractors do!
Physical Therapy for Balance/Dizziness
Our physical therapists are skilled in rehabilitation for balance/dizziness disorders, strokes and concussions. They will also provide guidance and education in ergonomics, lifting practices, posture considerations and injury prevention. They will document progress, assess and modify treatment, and coordinate care with other medical team members to give the best outcomes for their patients.
Low Level Laser Therapy
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been used for over 40 years to relieve pain, remove scars, heal wounds and regenerate nerves.
Erchonia, the first company in the U.S. to receive FDA clearance for LLLT, observed a pain reduction response in clinical trials of 66% after just ONE treatment – a remarkable outcome for a study!
Team Health Care Clinic is pleased to offer this incredible technology to our patients. We believe this greatly enhances our treating options and allows us to help more people become pain free without the use of drugs and surgery.
How does LLLT work and how can it help me?
LLLT works at the cellular level. All human cells produce a chemical known as ATP, which is the substance that “powers” our body to function and heal tissue. ATP is to our bodies what gasoline is to a car. To put it simply, LLLT stimulates our cells to produce more ATP. The more ATP we produce, the faster our tissues heal and the more relief we feel from painful conditions. LLLT Therapy is being reported to have dramatic effects on conditions such as:
- Neck Pain/Whiplash
- Heel Spurs/Planter
- Tennis Elbow
- Disc Pain
- Scars & Scar Tissue
- Chronic Pain Conditions
- Migraine Headaches
- Nerve Root Pain
- Back Pain
- Wound Healing
- TMJ Pain/Dysfunction
- Repetitive Stress Injuries
- Sports Injuries
What happens during treatment and how long will it take?
The treatment itself takes only 4-7 minutes. You will not feel anything during treatment, but many patients report immediate relief or reduction of pain with just one session. Healing is a process, and for most people, 4-12 treatments are necessary to stimulate healing and regenerate tissues. LLLT can be used in conjunction with your chiropractic adjustments.
Is LLLT safe?
The Erchonia laser is a “cold,” or low energy laser as opposed to hot lasers, which have a thermal effect and destroy tissue. LLLT is safe, non-toxic, and non-invasive. There are over 1500 published studies on this type of therapy and not one mention of negative side effects. The only thing you’ll feel, ultimately, is relief from your pain.
At Team Health Care Clinic, PC, it is important to us to be on the cutting edge of technology in order to help as many people as we can live a life free from pain, illness and disease. Contact our Champlin chiropractic and medical office to find out how LLLT can offer pain relief without drugs and surgery and change your life for the better!
At Team Health Care Clinic, our primary emphasis is incorporating therapies that work with the body to strengthen and heal. Treating the “whole person” by removing imbalances causing disease and illness supports the innate ability your body has to heal itself. This philosophy is integral to helping our patients actually become healthier by using a drug-free, non-invasive approach.
Stress as a Cause of Illness
One of the primary benefits of massage therapy is to reduce stress.
A growing body of scientific evidence shows therapeutic massage can have profound effects on your health physically and emotionally. Massage Therapy can be a powerful adjunct to your wellness plan for a number of reasons:
Reduces Stress – Massage activates the parasympathetic nervous system and triggers a relaxation response.
Relieves Pain – Removes toxins and metabolic waste from fatigued and injured muscles. Reduces spasm and cramping by increasing blood flow to affected areas. Massage releases endorphins- your body’s natural pain killer- and is used to relieve pain from chronic illness, injury, and recovery from surgery.
Promotes Healing – Massage promotes blood flow and increases circulation to muscles, tissues, and organs allowing oxygen and vital nutrients to enter and stimulate the healing process.
Increases Joint Flexibility – Stretching and relaxing muscles allows for greater range of motion in joints.
Increases Immune Response – Massage strengthens the body’s defense system by increasing the flow of lymph to help remove toxins and by helping to facilitate the production of the body’s natural killer cells.
