Our Mission & Philosophy
We believe that a good team is better than the sum of its parts and looking at all parts of health bring transformational change.
Jay P. Bertsch, D.C.
I became a chiropractor because it is the health professionals most congruent with my philosophy of helping people lead healthier lives. Helping to alleviate pain is great, but even more satisfying is when patients do things they never have done before or thought they had to give up. To be the best doctor I can be for every patient, I know that relying on my years of experience is not enough. That is why I am committed to the ongoing study of the latest in treatment and research concerning an optimally functioning body. Every visit I strive to serve patients in a manner that brings them closer to being truly healthy. At Team Health Care we are blessed to have doctors and therapists from different specialties. We work as a team by directing patients to whoever will help them the most, utilizing each other’s gifts and abilities for the betterment of every patient who walks through our door.

I knew I wanted to be in the health care field even as a child. As I explored the different options, chiropractic care was the perfect fit for my philosophy on health. I am even more energized about our mission now than I was when I started practice. In those days, it often felt like we chiropractors were whistling in the dark. There just wasn’t as much interest in non-traditional treatments. Now, as a nation, we are looking for other options besides medication and surgery. While they have their place, I believe holistic care should come first, with medications and surgery the “alternative” when natural methods aren’t enough. By offering the many natural treatment options that we do at Team Health Care Clinic, PC, we can help the body draw from its innate ability to heal itself. It’s an exciting time to be in practice and I am so thankful that God has placed me with such a committed team, each of whom shares my vision.

I have known that I wanted to be in the medical profession since I was in high school because I’ve always been interested in the way the human body works and wanted to do something to help other people. I originally went to school to become a registered nurse and during that time I decided that I wanted to be a nurse practitioner. After practicing as a RN for eight years I became a nurse practitioner with a specialty in family practice. During my NP program I realized that over and above treating people’s symptoms, I wanted to help people attain optimal health by discovering the cause of the symptoms; thereby treating the problem itself. Everyone here at Team Health Care Clinic shares this same philosophy.

Everybody deserves to live a life that is free from pain and disability. That is what I find most rewarding about the work I do—helping our patients meet their goals to be free from pain and be active again. Since I was quite young, I had a desire to work with and help individuals with disabilities. Helping patients become healthy and active again is something that I look forward to, and teaching people how to maintain that level of health on their own is very satisfying. That is one of the things I like best about the approach here – rather than treating a part of the body or focusing on just the symptoms – we treat the whole person, and people actually become healthier as a result.

I’ve known that I wanted to be a chiropractor for many years. I had the privilege of growing up in a home where chiropractic was our primary health care. My parents and grandmother had a large influence in getting me where I am today as I’ve received chiropractic care ever since I was born. My desire to be in this profession really took hold during these years growing up under the care of chiropractors. It was a natural fit for me as I aspired to be part of a health care system that is holistic and patient-centered. Being a chiropractor allows me to use my God-given gifts and passions to serve others with my hands. Alleviating pain, improving function and educating patients on how to live a healthier lifestyle is what drives me every day to bring the best care I can as part of a well-rounded team of providers at Team Health Care Clinic.

My path to chiropractic care began early—at just seven years old, I was a patient at this very clinic. For my family, chiropractic has always been our first choice for health care, which profoundly influenced my views on wellness and fostered a deep respect for the body’s natural healing abilities. I am passionate about helping all types of athletes return to their favorite activities, supporting expecting mothers in achieving their ideal labor and delivery, and guiding babies and children through all stages of growth and development. As a chiropractor, I’m committed to empowering others to take control of their health and experience the transformative benefits of chiropractic care.

As the daughter of Dr. Joe Bertsch and the niece of Drs. Jay and Tim Bertsch, I truly grew up in a chiropractic family. Chiropractic care to remove nerve interference, nutrition, exercise, prayerful meditation; it’s part of my DNA. I wanted to join the health care providers leading people to sustained wellness so more people could receive the lifestyle that I was raised in. I love reminding people of how the human body is amazingly designed and I try to encourage them that it’s never too late or too early to start getting well. Our bodies want to get well if we can remove the factors that are interfering with our innate design.

My desire to become a chiropractor began when I was in high school. I grew up receiving chiropractic care almost my entire life, but in high school I became aware of the wide range of treatments and care options that a chiropractor can perform and has at their disposal. My love for health care developed around the idea of healing the body in a natural way that doesn’t require medications or surgeries. As a chiropractor, I remove nerve interference to help effect pain, motion, and function and return the body to the natural state that we were intended for when we were created. I strive to encourage people to use their natural health and sustained wellness created partially through chiropractic care to live a life full of exercise and healthy nutrition to create endless opportunities and memories. My hope as a provider at Team Health Care is to not only help people feel better and improve symptoms, but to reach goals and accomplishments through care and educational tools.
